 Bethesda, Maryland - February 2006

As one might expect, this exhibit promises to activate the senses of both fascination as well as the drive for deeper information and knowledge of the forensic sciences.

Color-Ad has just been awarded this extremely interesting exhibit project. Our team is thrilled and anxious to get started with the multi-faceted scope of work. In as many as three phases, the de-installation of two existing exhibits, evaluation of repurposing various elements, and the careful packaging & transporting to storage facilities will ready the space for the new exhibit, "Visible Proofs: Forensic Views of the Body". George Washington Carver National Monument - Carver Discovery Center

National Park Service
Diamond, Missouri - February 2006

The George Washington Carver National Monument was created in July 1943 to memorialize the life and accomplishments of George Washington Carver. Located on 210 acres of the original 240-acre Moses Carver homestead in Newton County, Missouri, the Monument preserves his birthplace. In addition to honoring Dr. Carver's rise from slavery as a pioneer in facilitating interracial harmony, it also expands to celebrate his life story as botanist, educator, humanitarian, artist, musician, and a world-renowned agricultural research scientist. To further compliment his life long service to others, the exhibit honors Dr. Carver's dedication to mentoring youth and in building strong moral character.

Color-Ad is proud to team with the National Park Service and Exhibit A Design Group as a collaborative effort to create the Carver Discovery Center where visitors will interact with various interpretive and educational medias in a combined total of approximately 3,800 square feet of exhibit space. The key purpose of the Visitor Center is to add a self-guided inquiry centered hands-on learning experience for visitors and students alike.

This massive exhibit shall include a range of interpretive media, hands-on educational exhibits, and teaching aids utilizing complex audio, video, and electronic interactive components as part of the design.

Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail

New Project Award with the National Park Service - February 2006

Color-Ad has been awarded the interpretive exhibits for the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail, a collaborative project between the National Park Service and the Alabama Department of Transportation.

The interactive exhibits tell the story of the decades-long voting rights crusade in Alabama that climaxed in March 1965 as Civil Rights activists converged on Selma, Alabama. The final push to achieve a nationwide solution to the disenfranchisement of African Americans came as the result of three strategically planned marches, the first of which took place on March 7. Nearly 500 marchers proceeded through the streets of Selma and across the Edmund Pettus Bridge where they were faced by scores of Alabama State troopers. The troopers attacked the non-violent marchers, leaving many of them bloodied and severely injured, on a date forever ensconced in history as “Bloody Sunday”.

A second march ended in a prayer session at the point of Sunday's confrontation. When an injunction circumventing the march to the Alabama State Capitol was reversed, a plan was devised to conduct the monumental trek on Sunday, March 21, 1965. Thousands of people, representing many races and nationalities, moved before the eyes of the world in demonstration to guarantee the right to vote. The five-day/four-night event covered a 54-mile route along state Highway 80 through chilling weather and rain. The result was the personal triumph of those who participated in the historic trek and the signing of the Voting Rights Act on August 6, 1965. Today, the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail stands as a testament to the sacrifices made in the triumph to preserve the “right to vote” as the bedrock of American democracy.

The exhibits will be installed in February 2006 at the Tent City Interpretive Center in Whitehall, Alabama.

Ben Reifel Visitor Center Exhibits - Badlands National Park

Interior, South Dakota - September 2005

Color-Ad, Inc. is thrilled to present the award of this rich exhibit with a purpose of detail, fabrication, delivery and installation. With a strong emphasis on Geology, Flora and Fauna, Color-Ad, Inc. was chosen for technical ability and history of intricate detail in working with the National Park Service.

The project consists of dioramas (a recreation of life like environments), mock-up platforms, a three dimensional (3D) topographical map, interactive audio and visual graphics to enhance artifacts in custom built casings. President Franklin D. Roosevelt established Badlands in 1939 as a scenic and scientific value to preserve. With 244,000 acres of formations blending with mixed grass prairie and wildlife, half of the acres were once part of a bombing range located on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation used by the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a training area for pilots. This project is slated for a fourth quarter 2005 completion.
